Description

Red Planet, the classic bluff/area majority game by Bruno Faidutti and Bruno Cathala will come back in a brand new edition in 2025. All visuals have been crafted by illustrator and video game industry veteran Derek Stenning. This edition is set for release in 2025, marking 10 years since the previous iteration was published.

This new edition retains all the mechanics of the title, while adding a new modular board and changing all the components and visuals. The game moves away from the steampunk atmosphere that marked the first and second editions of Mission: Red Planet, in favor of a new sci-fi theme.

This new edition places 2 to 6 players at the head of rival mining corporations, vying for the riches of Mars. To accomplish this, players will send their astronauts to the planet using specialist cards, each giving access to special powers. The astronauts will be represented by miniatures sculpted by Chiarra Billo.

The new modular board introduced with the third edition was designed by Bruno Faidutti and Bruno Cathala as a way to adjust the level of unpredictability in the game, as its various configurations can lead to more or less unexpected discoveries. In Mission: Red Planet, an area's resources aren't revealed until an anstronaut lands on it.
