Dwarf (engl.)

Beschreibung

Dwarf is a strategy game for 1 to 3 players aged 9+ with a playing time of 30 minutes. Explore a dynamic mine grid to gather resources, forge artefacts, and defend against threats in a card-driven worker placement game. Adapt to changing locations and make strategic decisions to protect your dwarven community in solo or multiplayer modes.

Deep within the tunnels of the Majestic Mountain, Dwarf invites players to mine precious resources, forge legendary artefacts, and defend their home from intruders. This card-driven worker placement game challenges 1 to 3 players to tactically navigate an ever-changing mine represented by a grid of location cards. Each round, new cards reshape the playing area, opening access to ores and crafting opportunities while also introducing threats to overcome. Players take on the role of courageous dwarves who balance their dedication to resource gathering, forging valuable items, and protecting their community. The game unfolds in three phases: placing new mine locations, assigning workers to carefully chosen actions, and resolving those actions to extract resources, fend off enemies, recruit support, or create artefacts. Success depends on making difficult decisions with limited workers—whether to guard supplies, mine aggressively, or defend against powerful foes like the Great Dragon. Dwarf offers both solo play against a reactive AI that mimics human strategies and competitive multiplayer games for up to three players (expandable to five with an additional base game). The AI’s behavior is intricately linked to the same placement mechanics as players, ensuring a challenging and immersive experience across all modes. With its dynamic environment and strategic depth, Dwarf rewards adaptability and thoughtful planning as players strive to leave their mark on dwarven legend.
