Rise & Fall is a strategic game where players take full control of a civilization, aiming to expand and develop within a fantasy world. This unique landscape features glaciers on islands and towering cliffs that serve as natural obstacles to overcome. Each player begins with a small tribe consisting of a village, a citizen, and a ship. As the game progresses, the tribe grows into a full civilization, adding more units including temples, merchants, and the valuable highlanders—special units capable of navigating the imposing cliffs. The game offers an immersive experience with no luck or randomness involved, focusing purely on player decisions. Creating the world map at the start is a delightful part of the game, resulting in a different setup each time. New players will appreciate its accessibility, as all possible actions are clearly shown on six cards in each player’s deck, making it easy to learn. Meanwhile, experienced strategists will enjoy the steady learning curve and the deep control the game provides over every move.
