Overview: VALHAL is an immersive and atmospheric game full of exciting stories, allowing the players to dive into the everyday life as well as the mythological world of the Vikings around the 8th century. Each player takes the role of a Viking-Jarl and therefore the control over their own settlement, where they build new ships and buildings and recruit new warriors to prepare for the upcoming summer raids. The innovative building mechanic is based on coins and building tokens. In combination with the food mechanic, this creates a realistic sense of playing. The fighting mechanic feels familiar to players of boardgames, as it's based on certain basic values combined with rolling dice as an element of chance.

A game of VALHAL is accompanied by 145 story cards that are played in different phases of the game and provide the atmospheric background of the game. Each season, for instance, starts with an event that affects all players around the table. In many cases they will have to make a decision - often the events lead to interaction between the players. The vast amount of cards in the game in combination with the chance of card-chains make for a high replay-value, as each game tells it's own unique little story.

The playing materials are of high quality and consist, among other things, of custom made dice (flaked, engraved, 14mm) and custom plastic coins (metallic colour, washed). Game boards and cardboard pieces are 2-2.5mm thick, all cards are 320gsm premium playing cards.
