The Cathedral of Orléans (engl.)

Description

The Cathedral of Orléans (engl.) is a family game for 2 to 4 players aged 8+ with a playing time of 30 minutes. Set in 1598 Orléans, players cooperate to build a three-dimensional cathedral using a unique tile-drawing mechanic from two pouches. Communication and strategy are essential to complete the cathedral before time runs out, making it an exciting challenge for adults and children alike.

In 1598, you find yourself in the heart of France, in the city of Orléans on the Loire River. Your shared mission is to build the Cathedral of Orléans — but only by working together can you succeed. The Cathedral of Orléans is a cooperative family game that shines especially when adults and children play side by side. The familiar followers from Orléans return, but this time they are split into two different pouches. Each turn, you must decide wisely which pouch to draw from to obtain the tile you need. Remembering which tiles belong to which pouch at the end of each round is essential. Communication and teamwork are not just encouraged, but necessary to plan your strategy and meet the challenge. The clock is ticking: the cathedral must be completed by the end of the third round. If a tile cannot be placed on any action, it will be moved into the bell tower — marking the end of that round and raising the stakes. A unique highlight of the game is the opportunity to build a real, three-dimensional cathedral as you play, bringing the story and challenge to life.
