Maestro (engl.)

Beschreibung

Maestro (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 4 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 120-150 minutes. Players compete as Renaissance workshops, creating and exhibiting masterpieces to gain the favor of powerful collectors across Italian city-states. The game blends art, influence, and rivalry to crown the most iconic artist of the Renaissance.

In the vibrant Italian city-states of the early 1500s, art was more than just beauty—it was a symbol of power and prestige. Workshops led by legendary masters like Leonardo da Vinci and Michelangelo Buonarroti competed intensely to create masterpieces, ranging from grand frescoes to marble statues. Each piece was a testament to extraordinary skill and artistic vision. These works traveled throughout the Italian peninsula, displayed in courts, galleries, and public spaces, captivating nobles and citizens alike. But creating art was only part of the challenge; success also required winning the favor of wealthy and influential collectors. Through charm, reputation, and spectacle, workshops aimed to attract these patrons and secure their lasting support. In Maestro, players represent the workshops of Michelangelo and da Vinci as they vie for fame and aristocratic attention across northern Italy. Whether playing individually or as teams, players take turns performing actions to create artworks, exhibit them in various provinces, influence powerful collectors, and compete for the recognition of the local elite. After four rounds, the workshop with the highest victory points wins and is celebrated as the most iconic artist of the Renaissance.
