Chicago & NorthWestern (engl.)

Beschreibung

Robber barons compete to dominate by building railroads from Chicago across the vast plains of America’s Midwest. Raising capital through stock sales is essential for expanding these fledgling railroads westward through the fertile heartland in pursuit of substantial profits. Players face tough choices, balancing the need for immediate income against long-term growth. Timing is crucial, as seizing opportunities at the right moment maximizes their value. Money management plays a vital role since the game offers no loans to cover setbacks. Players must carefully choose their actions, anticipate their competitors’ strategies, and be ready to act decisively when necessary. Chicago & NorthWestern is a strategic economic game with no element of luck; success depends entirely on players’ skills. Participants start railroads, invest in stock, and build tracks across the American plains of the late 1800s. They decide when to pay dividends to shareholders and determine where and how much to build, taking advantage of the opportunities presented. The player with the most cash at the end emerges victorious, with ties being rare but possible.
