Passeig de Gràcia is the most iconic street in Barcelona’s Eixample district. Originally a road connecting the city with the former town of Gràcia, it later developed into a popular promenade filled with restaurants, cafés, ballrooms, theaters, parks, and even rollercoasters. These attractions, however, were mostly reserved for the upper and middle classes, often located in private gardens. When the Eixample was built, these features were removed to make way for new buildings, but Passeig de Gràcia remained an important address. Wealthy residents commissioned famous modernist architects to design their homes here, creating some of Barcelona’s most recognizable landmarks. Barcelona: Passeig de Gràcia is an expansion for the base game Barcelona. It introduces pedestrians who stroll along the avenue, enjoying its amenities. The more enjoyable their walk, the greater the rewards players receive when the pedestrians reach their destinations.
