Magnate The First City (engl.)

Description

Magnate The First City ist ein Kennerspiel.

In Magnate: The First City, you take on the role of a property developer eager to build a thriving empire amid a booming real estate market. By acquiring valuable land and strategically constructing buildings, you attract high-value tenants who generate steady income. However, each new development opens opportunities not just for you but also for your competitors.

Players grow their property portfolios by buying plots, constructing buildings, marketing developments, and selling properties at capital value. Each round offers a chance to attract tenants—residential, office, retail, or industrial—who prefer certain types of neighbors and locations. For example, offices benefit from proximity to the airport, while new residents find it less attractive. Careful planning is essential to maximize tenant appeal and investment returns while limiting gains for opponents.

Rising land prices fuel the boom but also edge the market toward a crash that devalues properties and ends the game. The timing of this crash depends on player actions, making it crucial to balance property acquisitions and sales to avoid heavy losses and secure the highest fortune.

The game includes a Promo Pack featuring new tenants, a game café, a boardgame distributor, and an indie game publisher, adding fresh layers of strategic possibilities.
