Power Grid is the king of games for me. It plays easy and can be easily taught to play. It has some serious depth to it and everybody I play it with instantly fell in love with its game mechanic and theme. Bidding on the goods market and powerplant market guarantees an extreme amount of fun. Its mechanic also features nice advantages for players who are lagging behind, they get to buy resources first and play their houses first. This way the game stays competitive and exciting untill the very end. The component look great and is only surpassed by its brilliant artwork, it is one of the nicest boxes on our shelf. The gameboard incorporates two playing fields, e.g. Germany and USA, which brings a lot of replayability to its already nice set of features. I have not played many of its expansions yet, but for just a few euros you add a new gameboard. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about the game, except you can expect yourself to be playing this game so often it will hamper your social life :-).
The best game in my collection by far, everybody likes it, its power company, it plays easy and offers a lot of ways to win.
If you don´t own this one, you´d better change that. You will not be dissapointed by Power Grid.
