Shinkansen Zero-Kei (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 4 players aged 12+ with a playing time of 45 to 60 minutes. Players take on the role of builders constructing the historic Tōkaidō Shinkansen railway line in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, using Carriage Cards to build trains, lay tracks, and prepare Olympic venues to earn victory points.

Use your skills to build the historic Tōkaidō Shinkansen railway line in time for the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. Starting construction in 1959, this project aimed to launch the fastest train of its time, connecting key cities and supporting the Olympic venues. In Shinkansen Zero-Kei, players take on the role of builders responsible for constructing the railway line and its stations. Throughout the game, you will develop your own bullet train by adding Carriage Cards, each granting unique actions or abilities. These help you lay tracks, build stations, assist Olympic venues in their preparation, and acquire new Carriage Cards. The Carriage Cards correspond to cities along the route, and successfully connecting these cities in the correct order rewards you with victory points. After five rounds—reflecting the five years of the line’s construction—the player with the most victory points is declared the winner.
