Description

In Targi, you take on the role of a tribe leader among the Tuareg people of the Sahara desert. Your goal is to trade valuable goods like dates, salt, and pepper to collect precious gold coins and gain strategic advantages. The gameplay unfolds on a five-by-five grid representing the desert, with your Targi figures placed along the edges. Each figure activates the card it stands on as well as the cards at their intersections, allowing you to take various actions. Choosing where to send your Targi is crucial: missing a visit to the merchant means losing out on trades—sometimes even benefiting your opponent. Caravans may also bring the goods you desire, adding further strategic options. Goods cards collected serve as a means to acquire highly sought-after tribe cards, which provide ongoing benefits and victory points at the end of the game. Success in Targi depends on careful planning and always having some gold left to seize the best opportunities before the desert’s ever-changing market shifts in the next round.
