The Girl Who Made the Stars is a worker placement and tile-laying puzzle game inspired by a South African myth about the creation of the Milky Way and the stars. Long ago, the night sky was dark and empty, and the village elders forbade venturing out after dark, fearing the threats that lurked in the starless night. One evening, a young girl, frustrated by these restrictions, took a handful of ash and roots from the hearth and cast red and white embers into the sky. Her glowing trail formed the Milky Way and countless stars, illuminating the night to help her village safely gather the resources needed to survive. As a village elder, you will look to the new stars and trace constellations on the earth, gaining light, stars, and stardust to guide your people. Guided by this celestial light, villagers will venture into the darkness to collect vital resources such as fruit, fish, and game, boosting your reputation within the community. The player with the highest reputation at the end of the game emerges victorious.
