Twilight City (engl.)

Beschreibung

Twilight City (engl.) is an expert game for 1 to 4 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 120 minutes. Players act as partisans in a smog-filled city, competing for prestige while undermining a dictatorship. The game features tableau building, resource management, asynchronous turns, and a challenging solo mode, with strategic movement to avoid a patrolling Police Airship.

Twilight City immerses expert players in a dystopian struggle where you and your fellow partisans aim to overthrow the Governor’s oppressive regime in a smog-choked metropolis, while simultaneously competing for prestige points. This complex game combines tableau building and resource management with strategic depth. Each player constructs a row of cards, creating connections that generate resources and income essential for crafting sabotage items and funding various actions, including infiltrating the corrupt government. Actions revolve around a single Main Action per turn—either playing a card or selecting one from the display—with multiple ways to execute these moves and their cascading effects. Movement through the city adds a challenging layer, as you must evade the ever-shifting Police Airship whose surveillance complicates every step. Each player’s day consists of 12 movement points, but days don’t end simultaneously. Failure to complete your activities or budget for daily expenses, like mandatory oxygen, shortens your available time the next day. Twilight City also features a unique solo mode that introduces distinct challenges and adaptations to the core rules, enhancing replayability and depth. The game unfolds over an unspecified number of rounds, inviting careful planning and tactical maneuvering to outsmart both the regime and your rivals.
