Beschreibung

1979: Revolution in Iran is a strategic card-driven game that explores the significant events surrounding the 1953 coup, the Islamic Revolution, and the volatile years in between. Players take on the roles of either the Coalition, striving first to nationalize the oil industry and later to oppose the Shah and overthrow his regime, or the Royalists, determined to maintain Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi’s rule and safeguard American and British oil interests. Each turn begins with drafting event cards, setting it apart from many other event-based games, before proceeding to alternating action phases. Factional influence serves as the primary resource, essential for triggering events, performing actions, and mounting resistance against those in power. Scoring remains hidden throughout the game, maintaining a high level of tension and uncertainty until the very end. Will you succeed in altering the course of history?
