Beschreibung

In 1980 Sixtina, players take on the role of restorers competing to master the delicate process of reviving the grandeur of the Sistine Chapel. Following strict Vatican guidelines, you will apply different restoration techniques tailored to the specific needs of each section. Yet, the tension between the Vatican’s official criteria and the judgment of skilled restorers often leads to controversial outcomes — restorations that are sometimes more valued by experts than by the institution itself. This game invites you to engage in a challenge where art and history merge with every brushstroke. The real-life restoration of the Sistine Chapel in 1980 was a landmark achievement in preserving Renaissance art. After years of meticulous cleaning and consolidation, Michelangelo’s vibrant colors and intricate details, long hidden beneath layers of dirt and aging, were astonishingly revived. This project not only restored one of the world’s most iconic masterpieces but also deepened the appreciation for safeguarding cultural heritage.
