1998 ISS (engl.)

Beschreibung

In 1998, the US module Unity joined the Russian module Zarya at an altitude of 400 km, marking the beginning of the International Space Station. 1998 ISS is played in rounds where players choose between four Earth actions: training astronauts to send new crew members to the Space Station; loading materials that will be used to conduct experiments; preparing modules—players who contribute more to sending new modules receive extra actions; and planning experiments to acquire new experiment cards. On the ISS, players can take four different actions: moving materials outside the station to use them for experiments; performing experiments, which are the primary source of victory points; extending the astronauts’ stay on the ISS to earn points for research on the effects of microgravity on humans; and installing new modules that provide bonus points and enable further experiments. In essence, actions taken on Earth prepare players to carry out ISS actions that generate victory points. The game ends when either five American or five Russian rockets have been launched, and the player with the most victory points wins.
