Description

This installment in Volko Ruhnke's COIN Series immerses 1 to 4 players in the contemporary Afghan conflict, developed through a unique collaboration between two leading designers of modern irregular warfare board games. A Distant Plain brings together Volko Ruhnke, the award-winning creator of Labyrinth: The War on Terror, and Brian Train, a veteran with two decades of experience designing impactful simulations like Algeria, Somalia Interventions, and Shining Path: The Struggle for Peru. Using the same accessible game mechanics found in GMT’s recent Andean Abyss and the upcoming Cuba Libre, A Distant Plain introduces new factions, abilities, events, and objectives. For the first time in the COIN Series, two counterinsurgent factions must balance competing visions for Afghanistan while cooperating to confront a complex twin insurgency.
