Ankh Gods of Egypt: Pharaoh (Exp.) (engl.)

Beschreibung

In ancient Egypt, the Pharaoh stood as the singular link between gods and mortals—anointed as prophet, priest, and ruler by the divine. Entrusted with upholding Ma’at, the cosmic balance and order, the Pharaoh wielded authority over law, war, and judgment, guiding Egypt to prosperity with wisdom and divine counsel. When the war of the gods erupted, each deity sought the Pharaoh's allegiance. Yet, recognizing the peril to Ma’at and the fragile cosmic order, the Pharaoh decreed that no one man, however exalted, could resolve this divine conflict alone. Instead, the Pharaoh would oversee the transition to monotheism, protect the people from the ravages of war, and honor all gods equally. The Pharaoh expansion adds a compelling new layer to Ankh: Gods of Egypt by bringing the divine struggle into the political heart of mortal affairs. Players must send priests into the royal palace to influence the kingdom’s governance, manipulating key offices to gain leverage and steer the Pharaoh toward recognizing the supremacy of their god. Success requires not only divine power but also mastery over the human realm—failure means being forgotten. This expansion highlights the delicate balance between divine ambitions and mortal realities, where the Pharaoh’s presence still guards against chaos spreading from the heavens to the earth.
