Arkwright is an economic board game set in 18th-century England, where players assume the roles of entrepreneurs building and managing factories during the early Industrial Revolution. This anniversary edition features streamlined rules, updated artwork, and a new rulebook for a refined gaming experience. Players produce and sell goods such as cloth, cutlery, lamps, and bread across various markets. Managing up to four factories, they balance workers and machinery while responding to events that occur at the end of each decade. The game includes multiple modules, including variants like the "Spinning Mule," the "Waterframe," and an East India module, offering diverse strategic options. A solo mode called "Automa" allows players to compete against an artificial opponent, making Arkwright accessible for solo play as well. Success depends on outmaneuvering competitors, accumulating wealth, and increasing the value of company shares—while avoiding debt, which leads to immediate defeat.
