Bios: Megafauna (2nd Edition) (engl.)

Description

Bios: Megafauna (2nd Edition) (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 4 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 120 minutes. Players evolve plants or animals on drifting continents, competing to become dominant herbivores or carnivores while influencing climate through oxygen, cloud cover, and greenhouse gases. The game includes detailed components like mutation cards, wooden creatures, and a climate board.

Begin as a plant or animal making first landfall half a billion years ago, then evolve your species on drifting continents while facing competition and major ecological events. Your goal is to become the dominant herbivore or carnivore. In the full game, you can grow from 200 grams to 20 tonnes. The atmosphere is monitored for oxygen levels, cloud cover, and greenhouse gases, and player decisions influence the climate. Bios: Megafauna includes 8 drifting continents, 160 mutation cards, 140 wooden laser-cut creeples representing flying, burrowing, swimming, and armored creatures, various tokens for fossils and monsters, 110 wooden cubes, 42 climate discs, and 20 dice primarily used to track creature size. The full game also features 3 latitude strips and a climate board to track oxygen, clouds, and greenhouse gases. This is the second installment of the Bios trilogy, playable both as a standalone game or combined with the others.
