Chase the Bismarck is played in turns, each representing nearly five hours of real time. During each turn, both players move any or all of their ships and air units secretly on their own search board.
Players then announce zones where they have enough search factors to potentially locate opponent ships, marking the operational phase of the game.
If enemy ships are detected in the same zone, combat can take place on the Battle Board, representing the tactical phase.
The game ends when the Bismarck is sunk, reaches a friendly port, or after the final turn on the evening of May 29th.
