Codenames: Duet XXL is a cooperative word-association game that builds on the classic Codenames experience with a larger format for more comfortable play. Players work together as a team to find all of their agents hidden among the word cards laid out in a 5x5 grid. Each player views a key card showing which words represent their nine agents, as well as the location of the assassin. The assassin is placed differently on each side of the key card, and some agents appear on both sides. Together, players must identify all fifteen agents without revealing the assassin or too many innocent bystanders. On their turn, a player gives a one-word clue and a number to guide their partner toward the correct agent cards. The guessing player can select as many cards as the number given, plus one additional guess if desired, stopping early if an innocent bystander is revealed. If the assassin is uncovered, the game ends immediately with a loss. The challenge is to find all agents before time runs out to secure victory.
