Cosmic Frog Reprint (engl.)

Beschreibung

Cosmic Frog is a game of collection, combat, and theft on a planetary scale. Each player controls a towering, immortal frog-like creature dedicated to harvesting terrain from the Shards of Aeth—fragments of a shattered ancient world. These mighty frogs serve the First Ones, who aim to reconstruct Aeth by gathering as much land as possible. At the start, your frog descends from the cosmic sea known as the Aether onto a terrain-rich Shard. There, you harvest land, storing it in your massive gullet. When your gullet is full, you leap back into the Aether to deposit the collected terrain into your inter-dimensional vault for permanent storage, before returning to gather more. Your goal is to create the most valuable vault by strategically balancing linear sets of identical lands with a diverse variety at the end of the game. You can choose to focus quietly on harvesting or engage in combat with other frogs, stealing lands directly from their gullets—or even raiding their vaults if they’ve been pushed into the Outer Dimensions. Immortal and invulnerable, no frog is ever permanently harmed—only irritated and hindered. However, the Aether is unpredictable. Waves of Aether Flux will cause mutations that may require adapting your strategy, and occasional crashes of Splinters of Aeth—the swirling remnants of the old world—can destroy terrain and even shatter the Shard itself. The game ends when all harvestable land is taken or the Shard is destroyed. The player with the highest-valued vault wins, and the frogs move on to harvest the next Shard for the First Ones.
