From Vine to Winery: the Successful Winemakers’ Game

Cuvée (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 4 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 90 minutes. Players manage vineyards and wineries over 6 years, optimizing grape production, quality, and blending wines while adapting to weather challenges. The goal is to build a prestigious winery by expanding facilities and making strategic decisions each season.

Cuvée is a deeply thematic action-drafting strategy game that simulates the challenges of managing a real winery. Each player begins with just two vineyards and aims to develop a world-class winery over six years, represented by six rounds. Each round consists of five seasons, during which players select their preferred actions to shape the year ahead. Throughout the game, players optimize grape production, enhance wine quality, and blend wines to create exceptional cuvées. Expanding the winery is essential, including acquiring new land and building facilities like wine houses, restaurants, and guesthouses. Players also need to manage their workforce carefully, ensuring employees are paid. A crucial element influencing gameplay is the weather card, which can cause setbacks. Players must employ preventive measures to mitigate potential damage. The game progresses season by season, with decisions made early in the round affecting the entire year’s outcome. The player who accumulates the most prestige points by the end of the game wins.
