Hans im Glück Verlag (2024)El Grande (2023) (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 5 players aged 10+ with a playing time of 90 minutes. Set in 15th century Spain, players compete as influential grandees sending knights to conquer and defend regions. The goal is to gain dominance over Spain by capturing castles and expanding influence in a historical conflict between various kingdoms and cultures.
In 15th century Spain, the struggle for control between Christian and Muslim rulers has lasted for centuries. The country is divided into various kingdoms, counties, provinces, and an emirate. Catholics, Moors, Basques, Galicians, and Catalans all vie for dominance across the regions. The powerful grandees, members of the nobility, play a pivotal role by dispatching their valiant knights, the Caballeros, to seize and hold territories. With each castle they capture and defend, their influence expands.
Who will ultimately prevail in the battle for Spain and earn the title of "El Grande”?
