History of the World (engl.)

Beschreibung

History of the World retraces the story of humanity, starting from ancient Sumeria and extending to modern-day USA. The map highlights the regions where civilizations thrived, featuring over sixty peoples represented on Empire and Event cards. Capitals, cities, monuments, and forts come into play, only to be conquered or diminished by rival armies. Controlling these buildings and lands allows players to collect gold, and the player with the most gold at the end of the game wins. Key features of History of the World include:

• Options to play with or without dice rules
• Distribution of Empire and Event cards
• New Event cards
• Revised gold collection mechanics
• Introduction of new ‘Area tokens’ for strategic play
• New ‘Honour tokens’ that provide additional benefits
• A redesigned player array

While many changes have been made, the game’s spirit remains intact, preserving elements from the earliest versions alongside useful updates. For example, the ‘Catastrophe’ event has evolved into an Honour token. However, the ‘Weaponry’ event — once considered too powerful — has been removed over time.
