I Napoleon (engl.)

Beschreibung

200 years after his death in exile on the island of St. Helena, Napoleon Bonaparte remains a figure of fascination and controversy. More books have been written about Napoleon than any historical figure apart from Jesus, and debates about his life and legacy continue: Was he the savior or the destroyer of the Revolution? Lawgiver or tyrant? Great captain or reckless gambler? Symbol of the Romantic Age or the greatest product of the Age of Reason? Wherever your views lie, Napoleon’s life (1769–1821) was packed with enough events for a dozen lifetimes. It is the epic story of a son of minor Corsican nobility who rose to the heights of power before losing it all—a story made for games. I, Napoleon is a solitaire historical role-playing card game that places you in the shoes of Captain Buonaparte in 1793. Louis XVI has just been guillotined, the Robespierre brothers control the destiny of France, and the whole of Europe has aligned with French Royalists to crush France, end the Revolution, and restore peace based on hereditary principles that have governed society for a thousand years. As an ambitious but unknown young artillery officer speaking French with a Corsican accent, you might seem an unlikely agent of destiny. Can you use your brilliant mind, immense energy, and sometimes terrifying charisma to leave your mark on history? Or will you perish as a minor footnote in France’s story?
