Mit strategischem Gebietskontroll- und Bewegungsspiel erleben die Spieler historische Taktiken und spannende Gefechte auf dem Schlachtfeld.

Three years after Gettysburg, the Battle of Koniggratz took place in Europe on July 3rd, 1866. This decisive clash saw the Kingdom of Prussia defeat the Austrian Empire, marking the turning point of the Austro-Prussian War. Prussia’s victory paved the way for its dominance over the independent German states and ultimately led to the formation of the German Empire within five years. Koniggratz ’66 is a game for 2 to 4 players that recreates this historic battle. Infantry units are represented by battalions and regiments, while cavalry units are organized into regiments and brigades. Due to the vast scale of the battlefield—twice as large as the biggest American Civil War engagement—the game uses two maps at a scale of 400 yards per hex to capture the full scope of the conflict. Designed to be accessible yet detailed, the game offers players the chance to explore the terrain, weapons, tactics, and maneuvers that shaped the outcome. It includes two main scenarios: the opening morning engagement and the complete daylong battle. Additionally, players can experience an introductory scenario, a retreat scenario, and a “what if” scenario that allows the Austrian player greater flexibility with reserve corps deployment.
