Description

In Mountain Goats, players aim to move their goats to the summit of six different mountains, scoring points for as long as their goat remains there. While goats can share spaces on the ascent, only one goat can occupy the top of each mountain at any time. If another player's goat reaches a summit, it will knock the current occupant off, forcing them to start their climb anew.

The game revolves around timing: it’s not enough to simply reach the summit—you must do so when no other player is in a position to dislodge you.

Keeping a close watch on your opponents is key. You want to maximize your own score while limiting theirs.

Knocking goats off summits adds a playful interaction. However, this action is balanced because it only targets goats currently scoring and doesn’t set players back drastically. It’s a natural and strategic part of the game’s flow.
