Orbit (engl.)

Beschreibung

Orbit (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 4 players aged 10+ with a playing time of 30-60 minutes. Players race through the Silo System, visiting planets by riding orbital paths, teleporting via hyper jump portals, and using tactical cards to move, collect energy, and manipulate orbits. The game features randomized setups, solo and partnership modes, and strategic ship upgrades.

Welcome to the Silo System, the vibrant core of our galaxy, where the race of the decade unfolds. The finest interstellar tourists—seasoned explorers—compete to visit every planet in the system, navigating orbital paths, teleporting through hyper jump portals, and jumping across hyperspace. While enjoying stops on luxurious planets and space stations, players witness an intense interstellar marathon that marks the unity of the systems under Silo Supremacy.

ORBIT (Orbital Race Between Interstellar Tourists) is a tactical space race set in the 24th century, featuring straightforward turns with deep strategic possibilities. Your goal is to visit all planets in the system and return first to your home planet.

Each turn, you play a card and activate its effects in any order before drawing back up to your hand size. Cards enable a variety of actions: moving your ship, collecting energy for extra movement, advancing planets along their orbits, or even reversing a planet’s orbital direction.

Docked on a planet, you are carried along its orbit, allowing faster travel across the map. Success depends on clever route planning to ride orbital currents and hop between planets efficiently, all while anticipating attempts by rivals to disrupt your progress. Flexibility and adaptability are key.

Upgrading your ship is crucial. Visiting certain space stations and planets increases your hand size and energy capacity, forcing you to balance immediate gains with long-term benefits. The game board features additional tactical elements such as fuel depots, hyper jump portals, and hyper acceleration cannons.

ORBIT offers a randomized setup on two distinct game boards and includes several variants: solo play, a four-player partnership mode, and an option with a stationary planet.

As the final installment of Reiner Knizia’s Cosmic Silos Trilogy, ORBIT can be expanded with the Nebular Expansion, adding navigation tokens, hyper accelerator engines, and artificial nebulas for even deeper strategic play.
