Palace of Mad King Ludwig (engl.)

Description

Palace of Mad King Ludwig (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 4 players aged 13+ with a playing time of 75 minutes. Players collaboratively build a grand palace by adding rooms one at a time while managing multi-colored swan tokens as currency and points. The game features a unique endgame timer as a moat forms around the palace, creating tension and competition to contribute the most.

King Ludwig II of Bavaria has summoned the greatest architects to create his most magnificent masterpiece: a world-renowned palace. Set amidst water and decorated with elegant white stone and swans, this palace must reflect the highest standards. In The Palace of Mad King Ludwig, players collaborate to design the palace one room at a time, working together yet competing to leave the strongest mark. As the palace grows, a moat gradually fills the surrounding area. Once the moat closes in a full circle, the palace is complete and the player who contributed the most convincing influence wins. This sequel to Castles of Mad King Ludwig retains familiar elements such as tile placement, room bonuses, and the unfolding beauty of a unique palace. However, it introduces fresh gameplay with no auctions, a clever endgame timer that builds tension as the moat converges, and a distinctive resource system using multi-colored swan tokens as currency, scoring points, and unlocking special abilities.
