Railroad Tiles Canals (Exp.) (engl.)

Beschreibung

Railroad Tiles Canals (Exp.) (engl.) Railroad Tiles Canals (Exp.) expands the base game with a new set of tiles and components focused on building Venice-inspired canals, bridges, and gondolas. Players must manage a mix of core and expansion tiles to create long canals, close open ends, and score points with bridges and gondolas, adding fresh challenges while maintaining the original game's playing time.

Each thematic expansion comes with its own bag of tiles and special components tailored to its unique features, such as Canal End tokens in this expansion. When revealing Route tiles at the start of each round, players draw from a predetermined mix of tiles from both the Core Box bag and the Expansion bag. The number of tiles in each column corresponds to the number of square icons at the top, maintaining the same total tile count as the core game to keep the playing time consistent. While the number of tiles remains unchanged, the combination of core and expansion tiles significantly shifts the gameplay dynamics and tile availability, introducing fresh challenges. In the Canals Expansion, players focus on constructing Venice-inspired canals, bridges, and gondolas. The aim is to build canals as long as possible—each canal scores 1 Prestige point for every tile beyond the second (for example, a canal with 5 tiles earns 3 points). Closing open ends of canals is crucial, as each open end costs 2 points at the game's end. To close a canal, connect it to the empty side of a tile and place a Canal End token on top. Some canal tiles feature routes with open gaps that allow building bridges when both ends connect to other tiles. Bridges play a key role in scoring points with gondolas, each of which is worth 1 point plus an additional point for every bridge along the same canal, adding strategic depth to your sightseeing tours.
