Railroad Tiles Lakes (Exp.) (engl.)

Beschreibung

Railroad Tiles Lakes (Exp.) (engl.) Railroad Tiles Lakes expands the base game by adding Lakes and Ferries that act as large stations connecting routes via Harbors. Players place Ferries to score points and complete objectives like reaching Fishermen's Island or closing Lakes. It introduces new strategic elements with free Ferry placement and unique scoring opportunities.

In Railroad Tiles Lakes Expansion, your objective is to build Lakes and position Ferries on them to earn points. Lakes serve a dual purpose: not only do they score points, but they also allow you to send a route into the lake side of a tile to form a Harbor. Similar to Canal End tokens in the Canals Expansion, all routes connected to the same Lake through Harbors are linked, effectively turning Lakes into large Stations.

A unique mechanic in this expansion involves Ferry placement. At the end of each round, when you evaluate active Placement tokens and place pawns accordingly, you must also check each of your Lakes. If a Lake has more Harbors than Ferries, you may place one Ferry pawn for free on any available Ferry pin until the number of Ferries equals that of Harbors in that Lake.

Scoring for Ferries grants 1 point plus an additional point for each Ferry in the same Lake, up to a maximum of 3 Prestige points. Although Ferries have a lower point cap than other pawns (which can be worth up to 5 points), they offer the advantage of being placed for free on top of the two Placement tokens rather than replacing one.

As with all expansions, the Lake Expansion includes new Objectives. For example, the Fishermen's Island must be reachable by at least three Traveler pawns, while the Hydroelectric Plant needs to be part of a fully enclosed Lake with no open sides.
