Salem 1692 (2nd Edition) (engl.)

Beschreibung

In Salem, 1692, trust is a fragile commodity. Accuse and defend your fellow townsfolk as you hunt down the witches hiding among you. One false step—or one false accusation—could lead to your own downfall.

Salem 1692 immerses players in the tense atmosphere of the infamous witch trials. Each player assumes the role of a notable villager, such as the servant Mary Warren, pastor Samuel Parris, farmer John Proctor, storyteller Tituba, or beggar Sarah Good. The instruction manual even provides background stories for the 12 unique characters featured in the game.

Players receive 3 to 5 Trial cards depending on the group size, revealing their secret role as “Witch” or “Not a Witch.” Throughout the game, cards are collected and played strategically to accuse or defend other players. Accusations are made with red cards, and once a player is accused enough times, their Trial card is revealed. The villagers win by uncovering all the witches.

In addition to accusation cards, players can use green and blue cards like "Alibi," "Stocks," "Matchmaker," "Asylum," and "Scapegoat" to influence alliances and shift the balance of power. Black cards add unexpected twists: "Night" forces everyone to close their eyes while witches choose a victim, the Constable attempts a rescue, and the Spy sneaks a peek at a Trial card. "Conspiracy" shakes up the game by forcing players to pass Trial cards to their neighbors, spreading suspicion and chaos.

Presented in a clever faux-leather book box that closes magnetically, Salem 1692 can easily blend into your bookshelf, adding an antique charm when not in use. Prepare for a game of mistrust, strategy, and survival—will you root out the witches or be doomed by false accusations?
