Sanctuary (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 5 players aged 12+ with a playing time of 40-100 minutes. The game offers a refined and simplified experience based on Ark Nova, focusing on strategic tile placement and action card management to achieve conservation goals and attract visitors.

In Sanctuary, you design and manage a modern, scientifically-run zoo that balances the needs of animals and visitors alike. With a supply of 135 unique zoo tiles representing animals, buildings, and projects, you must carefully choose the best combination to create a thriving zoological establishment. Different tile effects support your conservation objectives and enhance your zoo’s appeal. Each player controls four action cards, and the effectiveness of an action depends on its current position. One card allows you to play projects, while the other three enable you to place animals from specific habitats: forest, rock, or water. Based on its predecessor Ark Nova, Sanctuary streamlines and refines many of the original’s mechanics in an elegant and engaging way. Finding the optimal arrangement of animals, buildings, and projects on your zoo map offers a rewarding strategic challenge.
