Septima (engl.)

Beschreibung

Only a few places in the world still remember the true power of magic, which once healed and shaped everything centuries ago. Witches, its last practitioners, have long been outcasts, aiding human society only in secrecy. The leader of these witches, known as the Septima, is revered as the wisest and most knowledgeable among them. Now, as her time draws to a close, witches from around the world gather in the town of Noctenburg to prove their worth and claim the title of her successor. Septima is a competitive, highly interactive strategy game centered on witchcraft. As the leader of your coven, you’ll seek to gain Wisdom by collecting herbs, brewing potions, healing townsfolk, mastering charms, and rescuing fellow witches from perilous trials. But be cautious: even benevolent magic arouses suspicion among the townspeople. The core gameplay revolves around the simultaneous and secret selection of one of nine Action cards each round: Move, Collect, Brew, Heal, Recruit, Plea, Chant, Rite, and Remember. Actions chosen by multiple players grant powerful bonuses, yet performing them together also increases suspicion and attracts the attention of the Witch Hunters. Deciding when and with whom to synchronize actions adds a strategic, semi-cooperative element to this competitive game, fostering rich player interaction. Rescue witches to grow your coven by healing and winning over the townsfolk to influence the Witch Trials. If a convicted witch’s witnesses are outvoted, she is freed and joins the coven that saved her. Starting with a single witch, you can expand your group to up to four, each with unique personalities and special abilities to support your cause. Even witches from rival covens, if caught, can be swayed to join your side through your support in the town. Septima combines accessible, intuitive gameplay with a striking hand-drawn art style by Villő Farkas and character illustrations by Barbara Bernát. Featuring wooden components and theme-inspired mechanics, it offers a deep strategic experience that is quick to learn and can be played in under two hours.
