Space Empires 4X 4th printing (engl.)

Beschreibung

Space Empires 4X 4th printing (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 4 players aged 12+ with a playing time of 180 minutes. Explore a dynamic space map, expand your empire through colonization and trade, exploit resources, and build diverse fleets to exterminate rivals. The game offers simple rules, multiple scenarios, and deep strategic choices in an epic space opera setting.

Space Empires 4X follows the classic 4X formula—eXplore, eXpand, eXploit, and eXterminate—within a richly thematic space opera setting. Players navigate a randomly generated map where each space may contain one of twelve terrain types such as asteroids, nebulae, or planets. These terrain effects influence movement, combat, and empire building. Players expand their empires by establishing colonies for steady growth, harvesting resources for quick income, and building merchant fleets to generate trade revenue. This infrastructure supports the exploitation phase, where players construct fleets from up to ten warship classes and advance through a tech tree featuring 50 levels of upgrades. Contact with rival empires is inevitable, leading to strategic battles where fleet composition and technology choices are crucial. Combat mechanics are streamlined, with no complex charts, rewarding balanced fleet design rather than focusing solely on massive capital ships. The game includes multiple scenarios suitable for solo and two-player experiences, as well as multiplayer modes with options for team play, such as 2 players teaming against 1 in three-player games. Scenario lengths vary, with some playable in about an hour. Simultaneous player actions minimize downtime, enabling a full game session without long waits. This fourth printing is presented in a compact 3" box and incorporates corrections of known errata while remaining otherwise identical to the third printing.
