SSO: Parasites (Exp.) (engl.)

Beschreibung

The Omega was carrying a carefully contained and absolutely deadly alien parasite. Both the containment and the lethal nature of the parasite remain true. Mission control is adamant: contact with the parasite must be avoided at all costs—though how to do so is far less clear. Whether you know the classic *Who Goes There?* story or John Carpenter’s film *The Thing*, one thing is certain: with an alien parasite involved, pain and paranoia are never far behind. Infection is inevitable, survival is not. This expansion introduces new "Permanent" cards, representing infected crew members who can lose control and threaten the mission. Initially, careful movement and partial quarantine help manage the outbreak, but the infection will inevitably spread. Eventually, more extreme measures become necessary. These Permanent cards can alter the rules of survival mid-game, changing how the parasite evolves and affects the crew, making the infection a constant, unpredictable threat. As any fan of alien infections knows, if the parasite lives in the blood, testing the blood is the key to destroying it. Using the medical pod to lower crew morale and conduct tests is a risky strategy, as it forces potentially infected members to gather—risking further spread. But this risk is preferable to the parasite hatching uncontrolled. Until you can remove it, remember: You Are Home.
