Description

Tax the Rich (engl.) is a strategy game for 3 to 6 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 20-30 minutes. This trick-taking game features a dynamic social hierarchy that can be flipped by triggering a revolution. Players bid to set trump and trick goals, then use special rule cards to gain unique abilities, combining political themes with engaging gameplay.

Tax the Rich is a trick-taking game where the usual card hierarchy can be turned completely upside down. The deck features characters from various social ranks, ranging from the Poor to the President. Each round begins with a bidding phase that determines the trump color and the number of tricks needed to earn bonus points.

The winner of the bid must then work together with an ally to win the required number of tricks. Normally, the highest social ranks hold the strongest cards. However, if at any point all cards remaining in your hand display a flag symbol, you may trigger a "revolution" by revealing your hand. This suddenly reverses the social order, making the lowest-ranked cards the most powerful. After calling a revolution, you play the rest of the round with your cards face up, openly exposing your strategy.

The game also includes thirteen rule cards that add variety by granting special professional abilities to certain characters. For example, Workers can "unionize," Billionaires may attempt a "power grab," Police enforce "stop and frisk," and Scientists can "debunk." You can choose to play with random rule cards or select from scenarios suggested in the rulebook, offering new challenges and strategies every time you play.
