Vendel to Viking (engl.)

Beschreibung

Vendel to Viking (engl.) is a strategy game for 1 to 6 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 90 minutes. Players lead a family through generations during the Vendel period, competing to become a leading family in the Viking era. It can be played standalone or as a campaign linked to Pax Viking, featuring unique components that integrate with the latter.

Vendel to Viking is the first board game created through the collaboration between World Book and Ion Game Design. Set during the Vendel period (550 to 800 CE), it immerses players in the 250 years of Nordic culture before the Viking era. Designed by Ion's lead designer Jon Manker, this standalone prequel to Pax Viking spans generations as players develop their families, competing to become one of the most influential clans in the forthcoming Viking Age. Each turn represents a single generation in which you place family members on the map to perform actions, access location effects, or elevate them into formidable characters. When a family member is elevated, they are linked to a character card drawn from a market and moved to an achievement tree, which, together with your family board, shapes your family’s future prospects. Vendel to Viking can be played independently or combined with Pax Viking as a campaign. The end state of Vendel to Viking seamlessly connects to the starting setup of Pax Viking. This integration includes some new components that are also usable when playing Pax Viking on its own.
