War of the Ring: The Card Game (engl.)

Beschreibung

War of the Ring: The Card Game ist ein Kennerspiel.

Inspired by the award-winning War of the Ring board game, War of the Ring: The Card Game invites players into the world of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings to recreate the epic struggle between Sauron’s Shadow and the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. Up to four players form two teams—Shadow and Free Peoples—each controlling a unique deck that reflects the strengths and weaknesses of their faction. The Free Peoples strive to complete the quest to destroy the One Ring while defending their lands from Sauron’s advancing forces and sinister allies. On the other side, the Shadow players must act swiftly to stop the Ring-bearers or gradually corrupt Frodo, burdening him with wounds, fatigue, and grief over lost companions. Players take turns playing cards that depict iconic characters, armies, items, and events from the War of the Ring. These cards either aid or obstruct the Fellowship’s journey or are used to defend and attack strongholds by controlling newly activated Battleground cards each round. Featuring over 100 original illustrations by some of the greatest Tolkienian artists, including stunning landscapes from The Shire to Mordor by John and Fataneh Howe, War of the Ring: The Card Game offers not only an engaging gameplay experience but also a captivating collection for fans of Tolkien’s world. This game lets you shape the destiny of Middle-earth in ways never before possible.
