West Story A Town Building Game (engl.)

Description

West Story A Town Building Game (engl.) is a family game for 2 to 4 players aged 10+ with a playing time of 50-100 minutes. Players build Wild West towns by purchasing cards and executing actions based on dice rolls. Strategic card placement and managing actions are key to scoring points through buildings, trading, and overcoming challenges like villains.

In West Story, players develop their own Wild West towns by purchasing cards and arranging them on their player boards. The goal is to enhance available actions and accumulate the most victory points. Although all actions on the player boards will eventually be carried out, the order in which they occur can be hard to predict, requiring players to place their cards thoughtfully to maximize their chances. Each round begins with a roll of two dice, determining which two actions each player will execute on their board. Once an action is taken, it is marked and cannot be repeated until the row is reset. If the action in a given row is already marked in a following round, the player moves to the next unmarked action to the right. When all actions in a row are marked, the player clears all markers in that row to start anew. Players can also mark and perform additional actions to gain more resources and options. As players advance along the score track, they reach various regions with nearby towns. Trading with these towns adds another layer to managing the tableau and scoring points, although encounters with villains may also occur. At the end of the game, the player who has assembled the most valuable collection of buildings, animals, and scoring symbols is the winner.
