Wonder Book (engl.)

Beschreibung

Oniria is the realm of an ancient dragon civilization, described in tales as an idyllic paradise brimming with marvelous dragon-made wonders and surrounded by thriving wilderness. The only gateway to this world is the Wonder Book, an ancient tome locked away in an abandoned tower, resting in silence and waiting for the one it desires most: you. Wonder Book is a pop-up game in which 1 to 4 players take on the roles of adventurous teenagers. It is a cooperative experience where all players either succeed together or face defeat as a team. The game unfolds over six consecutive scenarios, or "chapters," each represented by a deck of pre-sorted cards containing the rules, story, and challenges. Exploring the interactive 3D pop-up book reveals new parts of Oniria and advances the narrative. Starting with the first card of a chapter deck, the story progresses until a goal card is reached. These cards establish objectives players must accomplish to advance and explain the sequence of player and enemy turns. Each hero can perform three actions per turn, such as moving, fighting, using unique skills, collecting magical sparks for special actions, and interacting with cards and pop-up elements. After the players’ turns, a Wyrm card dictates how enemies react—whether moving, attacking, spawning, or performing unexpected maneuvers. While the core mechanics are straightforward, each chapter offers distinct challenges. Players will explore, battle bosses, solve puzzles, engage in mini-games, and search for clues, ensuring that anything can happen throughout the story.
