Bloodstones is a fantasy wargame for 1 to 6 players, where six distinct races battle for dominance, each with unique powers and units represented by domino-shaped tiles. Some units are exclusive to their race, such as dragons for the Dragon Riders and giants for the Hill Folk. Players start by stacking their tiles and drawing a starting hand of nine. They then place their citadel on the board along with selected tiles. Tiles have multiple uses: on the board they become units identified by the symbol in the center, while in hand they can be spent to build units, move them, enhance combat strength, build villages, or raid opponents’ villages. On their turn, players may perform as many actions as they wish, although some actions have timing restrictions. After completing actions, players refill their hand to six tiles. If the draw pile is depleted, the discard pile is shuffled to form a new stock. Victory points are earned by controlling villages and winning battles. The game ends after each player has scored a set number of times: three for two-player games and two for games with three or more players. The player with the most victory points wins.
