Conflict of Heroes Guadalcanal (engl.)

Description

In 1942, as the Japanese empire expanded rapidly across the Pacific, Australia remained the only major landmass in Allied hands, serving as a crucial staging area for a U.S.-led counteroffensive. Unable to directly conquer Australia due to limited resources, the Japanese sought to isolate it by establishing an airfield on Guadalcanal. From there, their planes could threaten Allied supply routes. The United States, despite being unprepared for offensive operations, responded swiftly. The 1st Marine Division, led by Major General Alexander A. Vandegrift, launched a surprise attack and quickly seized control of the Guadalcanal airfield. In response, the Japanese 17th Army, commanded by Lt. Gen. Harukichi Hyakutake, launched a series of increasingly intense counterattacks. For four months, a fierce battle unfolded on land, sea, and in the air, as the isolated Marines and U.S. Army defenders fought desperately to maintain their small perimeter around the airfield against overwhelming Japanese forces. Conflict of Heroes: Guadalcanal – Pacific Ocean 1942 brings this intense struggle to your tabletop. The game features beautifully detailed jungle and beach maps of the South Pacific, amphibious landing craft, elements like the USMC and Japanese Banzai charges, night combat, and much more, recreating the dramatic and critical confrontation of Guadalcanal.
