Description

Cthulhu Wars (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 4 players aged 14+ with a playing time of 90-120 minutes. Players control alien races and gods from the Cthulhu mythos, using unique monsters, spells, and abilities to expand power and unlock spell books on a large Earth map featuring 64 detailed figurines.

Cthulhu Wars is a strategic board game where players take on the roles of alien races and gods from the Cthulhu mythos created by H. P. Lovecraft. The game features a large physical map of Earth and includes sixty-four detailed figurines representing cultists, monsters, aliens, and Great Old Ones, ranging in size from about 20 mm up to nearly 180 mm. Each player controls one of the four factions included in the base game. During their turn, players first Gather Power, then spend this Power in a series of Action Rounds to perform various actions such as recruiting cultists, moving units, waging battles, summoning monsters, constructing Gates, casting spells, and Awakening their Great Old One. The Action phase ends when all players have exhausted their Power, and the next turn begins. Victory is achieved by earning points on the Doom Track. The first player to reach 30 points wins—provided they have unlocked all six of their faction’s spell books. Success requires expanding your power base while completing six tasks unique to your faction to acquire these spell books. Each faction offers distinct monsters, spell books, special abilities, and multiple tactical options that shape different gameplay strategies.
