Beschreibung

Fighters of the Pacific ist ein Kennerspiel.

Relive the intense air and sea battles of the Pacific Theater during World War II. Command multiple fighter and bomber squadrons to attack enemy carriers and island bases with no dice or rulers—just tactical movement and strategy. Each plane moves individually on a hex grid, engaging enemies by maneuvering into firing position. Opponents must attempt to dodge or suffer damage. Use torpedoes and bombs to strike ships and ground targets. Maintaining formation is key to holding the initiative and overwhelming your adversary. Every aircraft has unique attributes such as speed, armor, and special abilities, adding depth to combat tactics. The game pieces are meticulously illustrated to closely represent their historical counterparts, enhancing immersion in the conflict. The Fighters of the Pacific series features a CORE GAME and TWO EXPANSIONS. The CORE GAME offers all components required for hours of gameplay: a large modular board, 4 aircraft carriers, 4 destroyers, 94 aircraft tokens, 91 game tokens, and 8 reference cards. It includes complete rules and 10 scenarios. The carrier and aircraft tokens depict four real 1942 aircraft carriers, with a scale of one token representing three aircraft. The Japanese carriers AKAGI and KAGA represent the 1st aircraft division involved in the Pearl Harbor attack and the Battle of Midway. The American carriers USS HORNET and USS YORKTOWN participated in the Doolittle Raid and the Battle of Midway. The first expansion, BATTLE OF MIDWAY, adds tokens to complete the forces involved in this crucial battle, including aircraft stationed at Midway Island. It introduces three new American aircraft models: the F2A Buffalo fighter, the B-26 Mitchell bomber, which led the first counterattack against the Japanese, and new TBF Avengers. This expansion contains five scenarios that let you experience one of the most unpredictable and decisive battles of the war firsthand. The second expansion, BATTLE OF THE CORAL SEA, recreates the first naval air battle a month before Midway. It brings three new Japanese carriers—Shokaku, Zuikaku, and Shoho—alongside the USS Lexington and four thrilling scenarios. Will you manage to save the Shoho and the USS Lexington in this titanic clash?
