Gold Country (engl.)

Beschreibung

Gold Country (engl.) is a strategy game for 2 to 4 players aged 8+ with a playing time of 30-60 minutes. Players develop mining companies, trade shares, and use tactical abilities to collect gold during the California Gold Rush. The game rewards strategic foresight and tactical pivoting as players compete to become the richest prospector.

Gold flows abundantly through the hills and forests of California, attracting countless prospectors eager to stake their claim and strike it rich. In Gold Country, you take on the role of a savvy entrepreneur, exploring the land, investing in the most promising mines, and maneuvering the stock market to maximize your gold holdings.

Designed by Reiner Knizia and beautifully illustrated by Beth Sobel, Gold Country builds on the mechanics of Knizia’s cult classic Spectaculum, but has been completely redeveloped into an intense stock market strategy game. Featuring new maps and tactical abilities, the game offers deep strategic choices within a straightforward rule set.

Each turn, you develop mining companies, buy and sell shares, and use your resources to activate powerful ability cards. The interplay of shared incentives and tactical flexibility challenges you to think ahead and adapt your strategy. The game concludes once all gold veins have been claimed, with the wealthiest player emerging victorious.
