Imperialism: Road to Domination spans the era from the 15th to the 19th century, where players take control of emerging superpowers and strive to build mighty empires. Success depends on balancing economic growth, social progress, and civilizational advancements alongside the modernization and expansion of fleets and armies. War is costly, so cunning often proves wiser than brute force. Negotiations, plots, and deception play key roles in avoiding exhausting conflicts that could drain resources and prestige. Early on, dissenters with strong military power may provoke religious wars, requiring players to respond carefully to protect their interests. Players must decide whether to pursue vast colonial empires, dominant European military states, or smaller but economically powerful countries. Every choice, combined with luck and opponents' actions, shapes the path to supremacy. Strategic alliances, flexible tactics, and prudent management of military and economic challenges are essential to outmaneuver rivals. The goal is to create the most powerful empire by overthrowing rulers, conspiring, conquering smaller nations and overseas territories, and boosting production within the empire. Building and expanding military forces is crucial to meet the challenges posed by rival superpowers. The player with the most glory points at the end emerges victorious.
